I don't know who is more excited....Meme or Drake?!

Whew! I am back among the living! I have some catching up to do! I have been sick for the last WEEK with the flu. Wow, is it hard to be a Momma and be sick. Thank goodness for family! Huge thanks to Nonnie, Meme, Papa, Ash and of course Daddy! I sure realized how important my job is when I am not physically able to do it. I feel loved;)

I have to back up because last weekend Valentines Day was a BIG day for Drake! He had his first over night trip to Meme and Papa's! Meme and Papa spent Friday night and watched Drake so that Justin and I and Ash and Vince could go to dinner for the boys birthday. The next morning Meme mentioned taking Drake back to the lake and letting him spend the night. Believe it or not I was all for it and Justin was the one who had the reservations! The boy is two after all:) Drake went and he could not have been more excited. I packed his suitcase and he waited by the front door with a huge smile on his face. He was so excited to see their cats Bonnie and Clyde! He did great and so did Meme and Papa. I was so glad they had the practice because he ended up going back and staying with them a few nights while I was sick. Big boy having sleep overs!!

Smarty Pants!

Drake in the mornings loves for Justin or I to give him a coffee cup and he gets a spoon out of the drawer and pretends he is making his coffee. Today he wanted my "to go" coffee mug but, he wanted water in it so that he would have something to stir. I said no because what he likes to do is pour the water into something else like a bowl and go back and forth pouring the water like we do in the bath. So, I just gave him an empty cup. He was playing with it on the coffee table and drinking his milk at the same time. Justin comes out of the bedroom and there is milk all over the coffee table. I go over to clean it up and check his sippy cup thinking that the stopper must of come out. It was still in there and Justin and I are looking at each other like what happened. Right about that time Drake picks up his milk and takes a sip of his milk and spits it into the coffee mug!!! Showed me!! Since I didn't give him any water in it to pour he sucked his milk from his sippy cup and spit it into the coffee mug and then poured it out!! Smarty pants! Justin and I were pretty amazed at the little guy!

This morning at Drake's school was "Donuts with Dad" for Valentines Day. Of course I sent them out the door with the camera but, Justin said that D had to sit in his lap the whole time so he wasn't able to take any. Justin gave a donut to Drake to try and he didn't like it....YES!! My big boy went with the fruit...good choice D! LOL. They had a great time and then Daddy and Drake walked back to the classroom.

So, I guess I should back up and let you all know that Drake has made MAJOR progress at MDO! It was very rough at first, naturally because he is stuck with me all day everyday and then I go and leave him. How dare I?! Oh, and it is only ONE day a week;) He is now adjusting. Justin takes him because he is a lot stronger at leaving him when he is attached to your leg. Which totally reminds me of Darius Rucker's new song..."It won't Be Like This For Long." Here are some pictures of his first day at school! I am very proud of ALL of us!

Drake is TWO!!

Well, the D man is officially two! For the last month if you asked him how old he was he would say two. I didn't have the heart to correct him since in a month or so he would be. We had an Elmo party here at the house. We rented an Elmo bouncy house and had fun with our friends and family. The party went great. No injuries:) and all the kiddos did great. Go figure that there was only one other little boy besides Drake. He is quite the ladies man:) All of our friends have girls! I wanted to share some of the pictures from his birthday.

Ash and I took the kiddos to the Austin Children's Museum on Tuesday. They had a blast, there was even things for Livi to do. Fun was had by all....

First Time Blogging...

I figured it is about time that I started a blog. It can't be that hard right?? Well, we will see how good I will be at keeping up with this. I wanted to be able to share Drake and our exciting moments with friends and family. As for now I am just trying to figure out how this works and try to get started. Time will tell....
